participate in
the Loop Ride which is a three-mile loop adjacent to the Northern

25-mile and 50-

Update
from Reed Denim and Diamonds Event:
REED celebrates great success at our November event, Denim and Diamonds,
November 14th at the Newark Club.
Thank you to so many REED supporters!
On Saturday night, November 14, 2009, Dr. Catherine Maurice made a
rare public appearance and spoke to a packed house at the Newark
Club,
where REED Academy honored her for her tireless advocacy of science
in autism treatment. Dr. Maurice, author of "Let Me Hear Your
Voice,"
has brought help and hope to countless parents by sharing her
journey through the recovery of two of her children from autism. We
are all
so grateful to Dr. Maurice for letting us hear her voice.
The evening also featured comments by Board member Susie Arons and a
video presentation entitled, "Voices of REED." In addition to the
formal program, guests enjoyed live jazz, an open bar, a sit-down
dinner, live and silent auctions, door prizes and a raffle for a
trip
to Bimini Bay. A great time was had by all, as we raised much-needed
funds to support appropriate education for individuals with autism.

Neiman Marcus Event
On the morning of Wednesday, April
22nd, sixty REED supporters gathered at Neiman Marcus at the Garden
State Plaza to enjoy breakfast and a Tory Burch fashion
presentation. After a truly delectable dining experience, REED
parent Shelly Milstein spoke poignantly about the enormous positive
impact REED Academy has had on her life with her two sons, both of
whom are students at the school. "The Whole Wide World With Tory
Burch" presentation which followed, showcased summer apparel, shoes
and handbags. The fashions looked fabulous—not only on the models
who donned them, but also on those guests who tried on Tory's
styles, post event. Lucky Cathy Berson, of Woodcliff Lake, won the
highly anticipated raffle drawing, entitling her to $300 of Tory
Burch merchandise. (Cathy chose a great handbag!)
All of our supporters left Neiman’s with a Tory Burch chocolate
lollipop, a heightened sense of summer fashion, and, because the
event raised $3000 for REED, the knowledge that their morning made a
positive difference in the lives of children with Autism.
A huge thank you goes out to Public Relations Director Lynne
Vreeland and the Neiman Marcus staff for three consecutive years of
phenomenal events in support of REED.
Anthony Fasano of the
Miami Dolphins Held Golf Outing To Benefit
On June 29th Miami
Dolphins tight-end Anthony Fasano , a New Jersey native , held his
second annual charity foundation golf outing to raise money for the
REED Academy capital campaign. It was a great day of golf at the
Upper Montclair Country Club featuring Anthony Fasano, Akin Ayodele
also of the Miami Dolphins, Rutgers Brian Leonard , Brandon Jacobs
of the NY Giants and many other NFL players as well as Chris Quinn
of the Miami Heat. The event was also organized by Lunar Sports
Group who through Pat Capra has had a relationship with REED Academy
for years. The Anthony Fasano Golf Classic presented by ESPN Fantasy
Football was a fun-filled day for over 150 golfers. At the dinner
REED’s Director Ann Marie Gregory presented Anthony with a beautiful
plaque along with Connor Sluka and Jonathon Gonzalez, students at
REED. Michael & Donna Sluka spoke and thanked Anthony for this event
and all his support. The night concluded with Anthony energizing the
crowd when he described what a profound affect his recent visit to
REED Academy had on him. We wish Anthony the best in the coming
football season!
